A lot lighter in real life than the picture which looks like it's walnut coloured on my screen. The one I received looks like honey oak. However the magnet is powerful and holds a fairly heavy metal keyring, plus it has a peelable adhesive sticker on the back which makes attaching it to the wall a doddle. overall quite happy, I can always stain it to match my dark wood.
